Cincinnati Bengals Week 10 Odds as They Host the Baltimore Ravens

A new era of sorts will begin on Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium as the Ravens visit town for a 1 o’clock kickoff. The Bengals, fresh off their bye, and hungry for a win, will have a new quarterback under center this week. Outside of a few missed starts due to injury, this marks the first time a quarterback not named Andy Dalton has been picked to start a game for the Bengals since 2011.

Ryan Finley, a fourth-round pick from N.C. State, will make his NFL debut for the 0-8 Bengals. Cincinnati will look to get in the win column for the first time this season but will have to do so as 10.5-point underdogs to one of their division rivals. The total on the game opened up at 46.5 and has been bet down to 44 early in the week.

The Ravens are coming off a season defining win against the previously undefeated New England Patriots last week. They are hoping to keep their focus—in a classic letdown game—as a double digit road favorite on Sunday. Lamar Jackson has had an MVP-like season so far and will pose huge problems for the Bengals defense this week against a defense that is giving up more than 435 yards per game and already surrendered 269 yards on the ground to the Ravens just a few weeks ago.

These teams last met on October 13th in Baltimore with the Ravens as 10-point favorites, much like this week’s matchup. The final score in Week 6 was Balimore 23 Cincinnati 17 and that was a back door cover by the Bengals after a “garbage time” two-yard Andy Dalton TD run with about a minute left in the game. Cincinnati also returned the opening kickoff for a score in that game.

Bengals Week 10 Spread and Bengals Over/Under Against the Ravens

Taking all the above in mind, the Bengals only mustered a field a field goal during the regular flow of the game. So rather than play the side on this one I would lean with the total going under the number (44).

The Bengals were hoping to have A.J. Green return to the field this week to help out the new rookie QB but the beleaguered wide receiver suffered yet another setback this week. Just hours after head coach Zac Taylor announced Green’s availability for Sunday it was then announced the he was now day-to-day and is at risk of missing yet another start. And who can blame him? At this point of the season, there is absolutely no reason to rush back to this team, especially if he suffers any setbacks during his recovery.

For those of you who see more losing in the future for the Bengals, the odds on the team going 0-16 are now +1000. Not a wager I would make right now but let’s see how the rookie performs this Sunday.
